10 Years Traveling Solo: How My Fear Turned Into Freedom
The real lessons I learned crossing 10 Indian states alone as an Indian woman.

When I took my first solo journey a decade ago, my heart raced at every unfamiliar sound. We are conditioned to believe that the world outside our doorstep is hostile, especially to women.
Over ten years exploring 10 Indian states—Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Punjab, and Goa—I found the opposite: a vast, warm, maternal India eager to protect and welcome honest travelers. I was helped by chaiwallahs, guided safely through stations by local conductors, and fed homemade roti by grandmothers whose names I never knew.
While Solo Safar’s initial signature route dossiers spotlight five core territories (Himachal, Uttarakhand, Varanasi, Rajasthan, and Delhi), the intuition behind every companion journey was forged across a decade of solitary footsteps nationwide.
Solo Safar was born out of this gratitude. I don't want you to miss out on this magical country because of fear. With someone by your side who knows the streets, the unspoken rules, and the language, India becomes the greatest, most empowering adventure of your life.
